Area’s largest wine industry gathering: WiVi 2017 features latest in winemaking, viticulture, direct sales

PASO ROBLES — WiVi 2017, the largest wine industry trade show in all of Central California, returns for its fifth year on Wednesday, March 15, at the Paso Robles Event Center, 2198 Riverside Ave.

Having sold out each year since it first began in 2013, WiVi is known as the largest wine industry event south of San Francisco. Co-owned and operated by the Paso Robles-based viticulture consulting company, Precision Ag Consulting, and one of the wine industry’s leading trade publications, Wine Business Monthly, WiVi originated four years ago when the two business partners wanted to provide the general public with an educational and networking opportunity regarding the ever-growing wine industry that is quickly consuming the Central Coast.

“Our collaboration with Wine Business Monthly allowed us to create a tool for the Central Coast wine industry that never existed before — a premier symposium and trade show that provides education support and local access to suppliers,” said co-owner/host Lowell Zelinski of Precision Ag Consulting.

At this year’s sunny coastal setting, the Central Coast’s best winemakers, grape growers, winery owners and managers alike will boast more than 200 different exhibits featuring new products, product demonstrations and networking opportunities. The event will also offer unparalleled educational and informational sessions by top industry leaders — such as Steve McIntyre of Monterey Wine Company, Richard Smart of Smart Viticulture and Becky Barieau of Foxen Vineyard and Winery — on viticulture and enology topics.

Attendees will not only have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of current and future market and industry trends, but they should also leave the show feeling confident in following and applying what they have learned to their very own businesses as well.

The one-day event will start with registration at 7 a.m., followed by a welcome breakfast in the Ponderosa Pavilion and then an entire day’s worth of informative speaker sessions as well as myriad trial tastings throughout. The Exhibit Hall Trials will include wines from DAOU Vineyards and Winery, Nine Wine Estates, Chamisal Vineyards and more.

Registration for the event is already open. While regular booths are sold out, there are still a limited number of sponsorship opportunities available. Tickets, available at, cost $345 for a session pass and $40 for a trade show only pass. For more information, contact [email protected]
