Beatrice “Bee” Glaser made it to 102 1/4 years old! She led a long and fruitful life and passed away early Tuesday morning, August 1. She was residing at Paradise Valley Care, an assisted living facility in Atascadero.
“Bee” was born on April 16, 1915 in Amesbury, Mass., the fourth child of five sisters and was the last surviving sibling. Her parents were of French Canadian descent and as a child she spoke French. She remained in New England until her 20’s when she went to El Paso, TX to visit her sister and brother-in-law. She became employed at the army base in El Paso and there she met her future husband, Gordon. After three months of dating they were wed. (They celebrated 60 years of marriage before Gordon passed away.)
After Gordon’s military stint they both moved to San Luis Obispo County and remained in Atascadero until the Lord took them home. “Bee” had two children. She is pre-deceased by her son Brian and her husband Gordon.
She is survived by her daughter Suzanne and grandchildren Kara and Lindsey and many nieces and nephews on both coasts and many extended family that she loved.
“Bee” loved to travel and did so. She enjoyed church activities, golfing, playing bridge, dancing and many bar-be-ques, card games and camping with close friends. She stayed active throughout her later years and always kept a positive attitude. She is remembered for her smile, light heartedness and praying for others.
Remembrances to Central Coast Hospice.
