ATASCADERO — Ladies modeled the latest fashions from Kelly’s Casuals, Ferron Elizabeth, anna & mom and Scissor Clothing last Friday for a well-attended holiday fashion show at SpringHill Suites. Food was provided for the 100 or so guests by the hotel catering at the hotel. Frolicking Frog Cellars, Ruby Cellars and Dead Oak Brewing Company provided refreshments. A lit up catwalk led the local business women models along as they modeled the latest looks from local boutiques.
“We definitely had a fun day and enjoyed ourselves,” Joyce Stewart, Member and Visitor Services, said. She organized the models and shops for the fashion show. The event has been hosted by the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce for six years.
“We’ve always enjoyed our fashion show wherever we’ve had it,” she said.
The first fashion show took place at Castoro Cellars. Each year the Women in Business Network sponsors a charity. This year the network gave gifts and gas and food gift certificates to the Creative Alternative for Learning & Living (CALL) program, a group of four residential homes serving adults with special needs. Women in Business presented a collection of 75 donation items for CALL.
The fashion show was emceed by Kelly Long, Chairperson of Women in Business and owner of Kelly’s Casuals. Anna Pecharich, owner of anna & mom announced her models as well.
The event began with a preview of next year’s Dancing with Our Stars, as Jim Wilkins, president of the Historical Society took to the stage with Christina Troxel, choreographer and dance coach for Dancing with Our Stars.
According to Stewart, the DJ, Kevin Rice of Forever DJ Events made the event work with perfectly-timed music and upbeat Christmas songs. “He is just amazing,” said Stewart.
