‘Charlotte’s Web’ returns to Cuesta College CPAC

SAN LUIS OBISPO — Nationally-acclaimed Cuesta College Drama presents an encore production of “Charlotte’s Web” from June 21-23 at the Harold J. Miossi Cultural and Performing Arts Center at Cuesta College’s San Luis Obispo Campus.

The 60-minute adaptation of the classic story of friendship will warm hearts young and old as it charms its way into the CPAC’s Experimental Theatre.

“In our version, we honor E. B. White’s tale of Wilbur and Charlotte while also updating some of the wonderful characters,” said director bree valle. “The message is positive and heartwarming. The characters are hilarious — who doesn’t love an arrogant French rat?!”

New for this year’s production is the addition of music and a special treat for the audience that will remain a surprise.

“You’ll have to come and see for yourself,” said valle. “Last year we had such a huge response — we sold out the entire run with an ecstatic audience. It’s not unusual for kids (and adults!) to talk back to the characters onstage. We love that. It’s really an excellent show for the whole family.”

Charlotte’s Web will play for one weekend only during the following days and times:

  • Friday, June 21 at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 22 at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, June 23 at 1 p.m and 3 p.m.

General admission tickets are $20, and tickets for kids under 12 are $10. Tickets may be purchased online at tickets.cuesta.edu or at the box office one hour before each performance. Group discounts are available to groups of 10 or more. For more information on group tickets, please contact Joan Hurwit at joan_hurwit@cuesta.edu.
