TEMPLETON — Twin Cities Community Hospital is having a Drug Take Back Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27. This is a free way to safely dispose of unused and unwanted medications and prescriptions. Twin Cities Community Hospital is located at 1100 Las Tablas Rd. in Templeton.
Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center will also have a take back day on the same day and time. Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center is located on 1010 Murray Ave. in San Luis Obispo and South County SAFE, 1086 Grande Ave. in Arroyo Grande is also a drop-off location if people are unable to attend the Drug Take Back Day.
Items accepted are prescription medications, over-the-counter medications, vitamins, medication ointments/lotions, inhalers, and liquid medications in leak-proof containers.
Items not accepted are eedles or sharps, thermometers, aerosol cans, medical waste, personal care products and hydrogen peroxide. Visit www.iwma.com, for information on how to dispose of these items.
