Longtime Chico resident Ed Bernard passed away peacefully at his home in Paso Robles, Jan. 3, 2019, after a long battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Linda, daughter Sheri Bernard Warren, husband Glenn and two granddaughters, Naomi and Phoebe of Arroyo Grande, Calif. and daughter, Jeannette Bernard Sotomayor, husband Sam of Hesperia, Calif.
Ed was born and raised in Chico, Calif., graduated from Chico High School and became an accomplished and honorable businessman. Ed sold Real Estate and owned Bernard's Liquor before moving to Paso Robles in 1990, where he started Oak Creek Ranch Hay & Feed.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother and father, Joe and Rose Bernard and sister, Joanne Burlison.
A visitation will be held on Friday evening, Jan. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Kuehl-Nicolay Funeral Home, 1703 Spring St., Paso Robles. Services will be held Saturday, Jan. 12 at 11 a.m. at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 820 Creston Rd., Paso Robles, followed by a reception.
