ATASCADERO — A fire Wednesday, Nov. 14, evening displaced people from a Sycamore Road residence, the Atascadero Fire Department reported.
At 4:45 p.m. on Nov. 14, the call came in that there was a structure on fire on Sycamore Road. At approximately 4:51 p.m. units arrived on scene and found a single story, metal structure, converted into a residential unit, ablaze. The metal structure, wood fence, an automobile, and vegetation caught on fire too per officials.
The main home was not affected, but people living in the converted building were displaced. The American Red Cross was called in and provided overnight placement for the displaced residents.
Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services sent two engines and two command vehicles to the incident. One ambulance from San Luis Ambulance was on standby.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
