Highway 58 resurfacing project East of Santa Margarita continues with traffic control for barrier work

COUNTY  — A project to resurface 24 miles of Highway 58 from six miles east of Santa Margarita near State Route 229 to the Navajo Creek Bridge continued Saturday, July 20 through Saturday, July 27.

The current phase of roadwork will include motorists encountering one-way reversing traffic control from east of Alamo Creek Road to the Cuyama River Bridge each day through the end of next week from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m.  Delays should not exceed 15 minutes.

This traffic control is necessary for the construction of a new concrete barrier.

The contractor for this $7 million project is Papich Construction of Arroyo Grande. This project is expected to be completed this September.

Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
