Of course, we will celebrate Thanksgiving this month and be grateful that we live in this wonderful country where we can experience an election, and no matter the outcome, we move forward. Mark your calendars for the 32nd Annual Downtown Holiday Lighting Ceremony with Mrs. Claus. Meet at the Paso Robles City Park bandstand on Friday, Nov. 23, at 5:30 p.m. there will be refreshments, speeches, and candlelight community caroling. The event is sponsored by Rabobank and Adelaide Inn and organized by Downtown Paso Robles Main Street Association.
Earlier on Friday, Nov. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Paso Robles Downtown City Park, you can shop the Holiday Craft Bazaar. Vendors will present handmade crafts and holiday gift items for your “gift-giving” pleasure.
Here in Atascadero, you have a great opportunity to get a head start on your holiday shopping or find something special just for you. Mark your calendar for the Pavilion on the Lake’s 13th Annual Holiday Boutique, on Saturday, Nov. 17. The event, presented by the City of Atascadero, is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and takes place at the Pavilion on the Lake at 9315 Pismo Ave. in Atascadero. There will be approximately 55 vendors on site for the one-day-only craft show where all items are handmade by the sellers.
The Holiday Boutique is free to attend. There will be a selection of food vendors too, so don’t miss out on this unique holiday shopping experience.

The City of Atascadero is planning its largest holiday event of the year. Winter Wonderland 2018 is coming to Downtown Atascadero on Friday, Dec. 7, from 5-9 p.m. with over 50 tons of snow.
Winter Wonderland is a family fun event right in the downtown area, offering a variety of entertainment from a visit with Santa Claus to bounce houses and rock climbing walls to Joe’s Little Train rides. Over 65 vendors, downtown merchants open for shopping, and entertainment to enjoy from Atascadero High School and Elementary Show and Concert Choirs, performances from dancing groups at the Colony Park Community Center, A-Town Skate Park demonstrations, Motion Academy of Dance, and much more. In addition, you can enjoy the largest snow slide in the county along with several snow play areas located around the downtown.

Here’s a way to make your season merry and bright while helping CASA, Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children, San Luis Obispo County. Join other supporters of CASA at the Madonna Inn, for Voices for Children, a festive Holiday Celebration Luncheon, on Thursday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., in The Gay 90s Room, Madonna Inn, 100 Madonna Rd., San Luis Obispo.

In San Luis Obispo County, more than 460 children are under the jurisdiction of the juvenile court because they were abused, neglected, or abandoned by their parents. Many of these children live in foster homes, moving from one residence to another with appalling frequency. CASA’s trained volunteers provide a consistent source of support to these children, advocating for needed services and appropriate placement until a permanent home is found.
Funds raised at the Voices for Children holiday event are used for recruiting, screening, training, and supervising volunteer advocates. CASA is a nonprofit organization.
