HWY 1 paving project near Cuesta College began March 25


COUNTY — A project to grind and resurface northbound Highway 1 from North Education Drive to the San Luis Creek Bridge began on Monday, March 25, weather permitting.
Motorists will encounter alternating lane closures on Highway 1 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and during the overnight hours from 8 p.m. until 7 a.m. Delays are expected to be minimal.
Electronic message boards will be activated to inform the public about this roadwork. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be present to ensure a safe environment for everyone.
The contractor for this $1.1 million project is CalPortland Construction of Santa Maria. This project is expected to be complete in May.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
