ATASCADERO — Head-on collision sent people to an area hospital and closed State Route 41 for three hours Friday night, May 24, the Atascadero Police Department reported.
At approximately 10:21 p.m. on May 24, the Atascadero police and fire departments were dispatched to an injury traffic collision in the area of 13550 State Route 41.
The first units that arrived on scene found both vehicles had collided head-on and all occupants sustained injuries.
One of the drivers was extricated and sustained moderate to major injuries. The other vehicle’s occupants sustained moderate injuries. All of the people involved were transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center by ambulance.
State Route 41 was closed to traffic for approximately three and a half hours while the scene was processed by investigators and the vehicles were removed.
The collision is still under investigation by the Atascadero Police Department.
