John Floyd Jones, age 56, of Atascadero, passed away on Jan. 23, 2018. He was born in Canton, Mich on Jan. 21, 1962. John moved to Los Angeles in 1983 and struggled to gain his footing in the big city. With the help of a few friends, he found his way onto a path where in 1988 he met and then married his wife, Rachel on Sept. 21, 1990. John and Rachel had two boys, Scott and Josh. John took his stepsons, Eric and Joseph Cerecedes under his wing as well. His boys were his soft spot. He taught all four sons a love of the outdoors, to help others, how to look for creative solutions, how to work on cars...and when it was time to kick the car and buy a new tool! John had a passion for riding motorcycles, camping, watching movies with great friends and good food.
In the 1980’s to early 1990’s John worked as a machinist and eventually made his way up to programming for Sunbank in Paso Robles, which produces hi-tech switches and various components for luxury and military airplanes - with some of their components on board previous Air Force One planes as well as jets of the rich and famous.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel Jones, children: Scott Jones, Joshua Jones, and his wife Larissa Jones, their son Walter, his two stepsons: Eric and Joseph Cerecedes. John is also survived by his loving Godmother Maria Quintero.
Our family is relieved that John no longer suffers and rests in God’s hands where we will all meet again.
