Keith Allen Morgan, age 56, passed on in his loving wifes' arms in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, July 4, 2019, after a 7-month-long battle with cancer.
Keith was born Sept. 15, 1962, in Paso Robles. His first job was learning how to pour concrete when he was just 12 years old. He attended Monterey Bay Academy High School and after graduation he worked for Stemper Brothers Construction for several years, performing many different skills of construction. He then started working for Union Asphalt, working his way up to Plant Manager. In 2000, he started his own business: Morgan Grading and Paving, which developed into a hugely successful business, closing in 2013.
Keith relocated to North Idaho to be closer to family. He then got a job with Woods Crushing and Hauling in Sandpoint. No surprise, he thrived and became Grading Foreman, an incredibly hard worker, with a rare work ethic. Everyone Keith worked with throughout his life loved him as a brother, a son, or a father, not just a co-worker.
Keith met his wife Carri in the summer of 2008. They became fast friends, and maintained a special friendship for years. In 2014, she also moved to North Idaho, where they fell deeply in love and were married in January 2015. It truly was the first time either of them had experienced a love of this magnitude, answered prayers for both. It was magical, they remained in the "honeymoon stage" till the day he passed.
Keith was incredibly creative, and when younger he loved to take photographs, was a talented woodworker, and built and raced go carts. He had a passion for playing baseball, later coaching Little League. When Keith actually took time for himself, he could be found with a few best friends or with family hunting, fishing and camping in California, Montana, Nevada, Colorado, Alaska or Idaho.
Keith took every opportunity to help anyone, lending a hand to a stranger, fixing a flat tire for a friend, or helping family build a house. He built the house where he and Carri live, and took pride and joy in caring for his home and Carri, as well as all of his family members. Keith had a strong relationship with Jesus, giving him peace throughout his illness, which gives his family solace.
Keith was preceded in death by his brother Aaron, as well as his many beloved pets. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Carri Morgan, his sister Shelley Morse, her husband Chad, his nieces Morgan and Tessa, parents Albert and Jacqui, cousins in Paso Robles, as well as Carri's entire family, and countless others.
Carri describes Keith as: Loving, Kind, Gentle, Affectionate, Compassionate, Ambitious, Courageous, Tolerant, Strong (physically, mentally, spiritually), Brave, Generous, Patient, Funny, Humble, Genuine, Loyal, Smart, Devoted, Persistent, Talented, Gracious, Creative, Resourceful, Tenacious, Sweet, Priceless, Handsome, Appreciative, Faithful, Beautiful inside and out, and Amazing.
A memorial will be held Aug. 3, 6 p.m. at the Ravine in Paso Robles.
