Local programs and area agencies are looking for volunteers

COUNTY —  Put your life experience to work with Senior Volunteer Services and Central Coast Community Volunteers. Join many seniors, age 50 and over, who are taking the time to help improve the lives of others. SVS and CCCV can match your talents and interests with community needs. Call SVS at 805-544-8740 for information on any of the following opportunities.

RSVP — Retired and Senior Volunteer Program 55-and-older
Estrella Warbirds Museum & Woodland Auto Display — looking for volunteers that love aircraft (old & new) and old cars. You might enjoy joining our family of volunteers as a docent. Little training is necessary and lots of knowledge is available in Paso Robles.
Senior Peer Counseling — The Senior Peer Counseling program at Wilshire Community Services trains volunteers age 55+ to provide free in-home supportive counseling to seniors.  Peer Counselors offer skilled listening and guidance to help older adults navigate the ups and downs of aging.
Good Neighbor Program — Wilshire Services Good Neighbor Program volunteers provide transportation to older adults to support the independence of the client. Volunteers receive a list of requests in their area and select only the tasks that fit their interests and schedule. There is no minimum commitment since each task is scheduled individually. Volunteers may choose from tasks like providing rides to medical appointments, grocery shopping or running errands. All drivers must be 21 and over and have at least 5 years of driving experience.
Meals that Connect — is looking for volunteers to deliver meals to the homes of clients in SLO County that cannot make it to our dining rooms. These deliveries not only provide necessary nourishment, but also serve a wellness check for homebound seniors. The personal delivery of a meal allows volunteers to check on their clients’ well-being every day, and our volunteers are trained to offer emergency assistance if necessary.
CCV — Central Coast Community Volunteer Program 50-and-older
