Longtime library donor leaves final gift creating legacy

TEMPLETON Templeton Community Library Association received a gift of $865,000 from the estate of Margaret Anderson Radunich for their library building fund. Radunich was a longtime member and donor and her final bequeath brings the total of her contributions to the Templeton Community Library Association to over $1 Million.

TCLA was originally seeking to reach 50 percent of the building cost goal by securing an additional $598,000 in funding by Dec. 31, 2018. Once the level is reached, the San Luis Obispo County Supervisors will discuss providing matching funds from the County for the construction of the project.

“We are honored with her contribution to our work which moves us forward to a new level of dialog with SLO County,” stated Mick Pickett, TCLA president.

First District Supervisor John Peschong, a Templeton resident, is shepherding the effort to secure the additional County funds for the building of the library. Additionally, TCLA is seeking $2.5 million in cash and planned gifts to fund an endowment that will provide funding for library programs.

Radunich passed away earlier this year. She was born and raised on a farm in Templeton, attended local schools, and graduated from Mills College. She earned her teaching credential from Stanford and taught school in Santa Rosa for many years. She married Nicholas Radunich in Santa Clara County.
