Mary Lou Hamilton, 88, of Atascadero, Calif. passed from this world on Monday, Aug. 26, 2019, surrounded by her family.
Mary Lou was born in Cherokee, Iowa and moved to Washington, DC to work in the secretarial pool for Senator Guy Gillette after graduation from high school.
She met her husband John (predeceased in 2008) while in Washington, DC and several years after marriage she moved to Westminster, Calif. where she worked for many years as an elementary school secretary.
After retirement, Mary Lou lived in various places in California ending up in Atascadero, Calif. Mary Lou will be remembered as an avid and lucky bingo player and the life of the party.
She is survived by her eldest son Ted, daughter Leslie (Fred) Weisman, youngest son Jack (Diane), and granddaughter Alexandra as well as her brother Charles Bush and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at St. Williams Church, 6410 Santa Lucia Rd., Atascadero, CA 93422 at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019. Final interment will take place at a future date in Arlington National Cemetery, Washington, DC.
