Oliver Kline, 61, born in Vicksburg, Miss. went to his Heavenly home with Jesus on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in Fresno, Calif.
Oliver was a man that wore many hats, but was best known for his honesty and loyalty. He loved his country and served in the United States Marine Corps and Air Force for over 35 years. He was also a Correctional Officer for many years at the California Men’s Colony.
Oliver was a strong man of God who lived and showed Christ to everyone he came in contact with and was always there to lend a helping hand to whomever was in need. You could always count on him to come through, putting others needs and concerns before his own. He was a family man, and made sure to let his family know that he loved them and always wanted the best for them. He instilled in them hard work, dedication, God’s Love and discipline.
Oliver loved to recycle and wanted to make sure everyone else did too. He started a recycling program with his Church, and with his neighbors. He served at a number of churches in his lifetime and ended at Agape Church where he had his Ministerial License. For many years he was a Chaplain for the Marine Corps Detachment League 680.
Oliver was loved by so many people and will be greatly missed. His kindness, love and generosity will continue on through his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Gladys Johnson; uncle, Floyd Kline; wife of 28 years, Deirdre’ Kline; six sons; one daughter; one niece; one nephew; and 13 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday Aug. 18, at Agape Church, 950 Laureate Lane San Luis Obispo, CA, 93405. The family has asked that vibrant colors be worn in Oliver’s Honor (please no black).
