The California Highway Patrol has identified the driver involved in the accident as 52-year-old Mark Johnson, of Paso Robles. The subject that sustained the minor injury, a laceration to the back of the head, was identified as 67-year-old Paso Robles resident John Fahey, a maintenance worker.

TEMPLETON — A building near the auditorium at Vineyard Elementary School in Templeton sustained major damage and one person was sent to the hospital Monday afternoon when a driver lost control of a vehicle and crashed through a wall.

The accident happened at approximately 12:45 p.m. when the driver choked on coffee, panicked and lost control of the vehicle, according to California Highway Patrol officer David Clays.

"There was only one minor injury and the driver extricated himself from the vehicle," Templeton Fire Capt. Brandon Wall said. "We are just thankful it happened after school got out. It could have been so much worse."

According to the CHP, the person with the minor injury, a school employee, was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
