If you have ever been involved in a large event you know that when you are 16 days out from the event, you’d better be pretty well organized and “ready to go.” That’s where we are with the Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival and our “Reserve Experience” and we are right where we should be at this time — whew!
Our amazing committee met Wednesday and everyone is on target, much to my relief. I’ve been involved since the first event and have seen it grow to become one of the premier wine festivals on the Central Coast.
Growth of events, like this one, is sometimes difficult, especially when you deal with changes required by government entities like the ABC. However, we have adjusted through the 24 years and been able to maintain the same quality experience for those who attend.
We started out as a very “grassroots” group and in time contracted with the Atascadero Chamber to help with marketing, budgeting, etc. We (the Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival Committee) eventually signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) which spelled out a collaboration with the Chamber, making the event and official event of the Chamber, but keeping the committee intact. The committee includes representatives from the Chamber, the City, and the community.
Your ticket includes admission to the Charles Paddock Zoo where you can continue to “sip and taste” while touring this special facility and the animals who call it home. Some of the proceeds from the festival help to maintain the zoo.
This year we have added more of everything — music, cideries, wineries, and a distillery. The location is still at our beautiful Atascadero Lake Park where the grass is green, the trees are shady and the lake is up! You will love the “kick-back” feel while sipping some of the award-winning “beverages” produced here on the Central Coast. Hope to see you there, so get your tickets now online at CentralCoastReserve.com or contact the Atascadero Chamber at 805-466-2044.
Mark your calendar now for the Atascadero Lakeside Wine Festival Reserve Experience, Saturday, June 22, from 4-8 p.m., Atascadero.
If you would like to volunteer for this event stop by the Atascadero Chamber office and pick up an application. We are holding orientation sessions on Wednesday, June 12, at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the Chamber.
Volunteers will receive a T-shirt and a ticket to the event which can be used after an assigned shift.
The Rotary Club of Templeton is looking for volunteers to help with the 4th of July Parade in Templeton. Contact Wendy Dow at 805-400-8378 for more information regarding volunteering and parade entry applications.
Congratulations to all of our North County graduates. I wish you success in whatever you choose to do with your future!
