Robert Jim Owens

Robert Jim Owens born on Nov. 13, 1945, was a loving husband, father, friend and musician. He passed into the arms of God Wednesday, Nov. 22, 2017, after a short illness. I have to believe he is singing with the angels and sharing his worship songs with them. In his last few days in the hospital he was attended by his wife Anne, three of his daughters, two grandsons and many friends. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Anne Owens (known affectionately as “My Bride” or “AnnieB”); four beloved daughters: Marianne, Michelle, Rosanna, and Ivana; and nine grandchildren. He also has three beloved stepchildren: Duke and his Sweetheart Lisa, Kamau, and Safiya and husband Joe; step-grandson Chance; step-granddaughter Cheyenne; and sisters-in-law Elizabeth Vitzthum and family and Sonja Webb and family; and a multitude of extended beloved family and friends. He is also survived by two brothers: Kenneth and his wife and Michael, and his sister Dottie and her husband.
Bob and Anne created The Praise Connection to share the Christian Music he was inspired to write.  He wrote more than 60 songs, most country gospel, some secular. Bob wanted to share His love for God with the world. He wanted the world to know that God loves you! God has a plan for all of us and he will never forsake us!
In lieu of flowers or other memorials please donate to hurricane, earthquake, flood victims and/or the homeless.  He had a special compassion for all disadvantaged people.
We want to thank all the staff at Twin Cities Hospital for the valiant effort to save his life!
