Ruth A. (Bresette) Alva

Ruth passed away on June 17, 2019, joining her husband and family members in Heaven. Ruth was born on Jan. 4,1937 at the Atascadero General Hospital to parents Clifford C. Bresette and Blanche Brown Bresette, both from pioneer families of the San Luis Obispo County.

Ruth attended Santa Margarita and Atascadero schools and she attended Garden Farms Church throughout her childhood. When Ruth was a teen her family moved to Paso Robles, where she would meet and marry Domingo (Sunday) Alva, on Nov. 15, 1955.

Ruth was a homemaker for many years while raising two children in the Paso Robles-Atascadero areas. Ruth then worked for the Senior Nutrition Program and was the lead cook at the location in Paso Robles when it was at the Vet's building on Spring St. and 4th St. She was then promoted to Manager at the San Miguel Senior Center with the Senior Nutrition Program.

Ruth was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, as well as a daughter, sister, and aunt. She will be missed for her laugh, her strength, her ability to tell the family history from stories she had heard as a child and from her own research.

Ruth is survived by her children: Cathy (Jim) Webster, Steven Alva, sisters: Carolyn Roach, Marilyn Bynum, and so many nieces and nephews from the Central Valley, Southern California, Idaho, and Paso Robles.
