Sarah Loraine Bundy passed away on March 5, 2018, at Garden View Inn in Atascadero. There will be a viewing March 14 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Services will be held at the Santa Margarita De Cortona Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 15 and graveside burial to follow at Santa Margarita Cemetery.
Sarah was born Nov. 27, 1921, in Detroit, Mich to Thomas and Eleanor Furie.
When Sarah was six months old she moved with her family to Altadena, then moved to South Gate where she attended grade school and South Gate High School, which she graduated from in 1940. When she was in High School she rode on the City of South Gates Rose Parade float in 1937. She also attended Compton Junior College and graduated from there in 1942.
Sarah met and married her devoted husband, Dr. Robert V. Bundy in 1944 in Tucson, Ariz. where he was stationed in the Air Force during WWII. Together they had seven sons: Robert Jr, Kenneth, John, Paul, Lee, Carl, and Thomas. Moving from Long Beach to a cattle ranch in Santa Margarita, and there they spent the rest of their lives.
Sarah was an accomplished artist, she enjoyed painting and other art crafts, but most of all she enjoyed raising her children.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband Robert, her parents, her sister, June Clinton, her grandson, Paul M. Bundy Jr. and her daughter-in-law, Candi La Van Bundy. Sarah is survived by her seven sons and their wives, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson, as well as her loving nieces, nephews, and cousin-in-law.
