Suspect flees in high pursuit chase

NORTH COUNTY — A woman was arrested after a high-speed chase Monday, Jan. 21, afternoon in the North County, the California Highway Patrol reported.
On Monday, Jan. 21 at approximately 2:30 p.m., a Templeton California Highway Patrol officer responded to the area of southbound US 101 at Del Rio Road in Atascadero for a report of a reckless vehicle driving in and out of lanes and speeding.
The officer located the vehicle, a white 2017 Toyota Camry driven by Ariana Danica Joyce, 42, of San Francisco, and attempted to make an enforcement stop on the vehicle. Joyce initially yielded into the median at Traffic Way.
Upon attempting to contact Joyce, she quickly accelerated away southbound and eluded arrest at speeds in excess of 100 mph cutting in and out of traffic and making unsafe lane changes. One of her tires was successfully spiked south of Highway 58 and she voluntarily yielded south of the Cuesta summit where she was arrested for felony evading and driving without a license. Joyce was booked into County Jail and her bail was set at $50,000.
