ATASCADERO — A project to place a protective overlay on US Highway 101 from the Traffic Way Undercrossing in Atascadero to the Vineyard Drive Overcrossing in Templeton will continue through next week. This project which is designed to extend the life of the pavement was suspended earlier this winter due to colder temperatures which made resurfacing the highway unsuitable.
Motorists will encounter intermittent lane/ramp closures within the project area beginning Sunday night, Feb. 11 through Friday morning, Feb. 16 during the overnight hours from 6:30 p.m. until 6 a.m. Motorists can expect minimal delays during this final roadwork on the shoulder, striping and rumble strips. No work will be performed on Monday, Feb. 12.
The contractor for this $2.7 million project is Papich Construction of Grover Beach, CA. This project is expected to be complete this month, weather permitting.
Caltrans reminds motorists to move over and slow down when driving through highway construction zones.
