Movies start at 8:15 p.m. in the Sunken Gardens in Atascadero
ATASCADERO — The City of Atascadero and presenting sponsors, Tenet Health Central Coast and Waste Management, along with event sponsor Perry’s Parcel & Gift, are bringing the community the 2022 Movies in the Gardens.
Movies will show Saturdays through Sept. 3 (except Aug. 20). All of the movies are family friendly and will begin at approximately 8:15 p.m. in the Sunken Gardens located at 6500 Palma Avenue in Atascadero. This event is free. They encourage everyone to bring their blankets and low back chairs to enjoy an evening of entertainment and fun.
On Saturday, Aug. 6, they present Walt Disney Animation Studios, “Encanto” (PG). “Encanto” tells the story about the tale of an extraordinary family, the Madrigals, who live in the hidden mountains of Columbia that takes place in a magical house in a vibrant town and in a wonderous, charmed place called an Encanto. The magic of Encanto has blessed every child in the family, except one, Mirabel. But when she discovers the magic of Encanto is in danger, Mirabel decides that she, the only ordinary Madrigal, might just be her exceptional family’s last hope. This film features songs by Emmy, Grammy and Tony Award winning song artist, Lin-Manuel Miranda. A must see for the entire family under the stars in the Sunken Gardens.
Other movies being shown at Sunken Gardens this summer are “Clifford the Big Red Dog” (PG) on Aug. 13, “Sing 2” (PG) on Aug. 27 and “Eternals” (PG-13) on Sept. 3. Movies are free for the community and you are encouraged to bring a blanket, low-back chair, and your family to relish the warm summer evenings.
Paradise Shaved Ice will be available at every movie selling concessions.
