Atascadero Community Band to present free 'The I’s Have It?' concert March 1

ATASCADERO — The Atascadero Community Band invites the public to a free, family-friendly concert titled “The I’s Have It?” on Sunday, March 1, at 3 p.m. at Atascadero Bible Church.

The creatively themed program highlights music inspired by “I,” “Eye,” and even “Neigh,” featuring favorites such as “Eye of the Tiger,” “I Believe I Can Fly,” “I Say a Little Prayer for You,” “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue,” and “I Heard It Through the Grapevine,” along with equestrian-themed pieces including “Grey Horse Polka” and “Black Horse Troop.” Selections will range from pop and Broadway to folk and patriotic tunes.

The podium will be shared by conductors Carol Kouklis and Joe Herzog. Carol, also a member of the Artistic Committee which designs our concerts, said,  “When we realized how many great songs revolve around ‘I,’ we couldn’t resist building a whole concert around it! From rock to folk to a little horsepower, there’s truly something for everyone.”

Admission, parking, and refreshments are free. Donations will benefit 805 Movement and Performance Arts.

The Atascadero Community Band is an all-age, volunteer nonprofit that has provided music and music education to the community for 40 years.
