Atascadero invites community to Open House for General Plan Update

ATASCADERO — The City of Atascadero is hosting an Open House for residents to review and provide input on the Draft General Plan Elements, preliminary zoning districts, and proposed land use regulations. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. in the City Hall Foyer, 6500 Palma Avenue.

This informal drop-in event allows community members to meet one-on-one with city staff and the consultant team to discuss the project and share feedback before the Draft General Plan is finalized. Attendees are encouraged to review the draft materials ahead of time at atascadero2045.org/documents

Following the Open House, the Planning Commission will hold a hearing at 6 p.m. in Council Chambers (4th Floor, City Hall) to discuss the draft plan. The plan will then be considered by City Council during a formal hearing on Tuesday, October 28, at 6 p.m.

The Atascadero 2045 General Plan Update establishes the city’s vision for growth over the next 20–25 years, addressing housing, jobs, infrastructure, public spaces, the economy, and sustainability. While there will be no formal presentation at the Open House, attendees can provide input directly to staff. Formal presentations and public comment opportunities will occur at the Planning Commission and City Council meetings.
