Atascadero Police invite community to National Night Out on Aug. 4

ATASCADERO — The Atascadero Police Department is inviting residents to gather for National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Sunken Gardens in downtown Atascadero.

The annual event is designed to strengthen relationships between law enforcement, first responders and the community while promoting neighborhood safety and community connections. Residents will have the opportunity to meet Atascadero police officers, local public safety personnel and representatives from community organizations and businesses.

A highlight of the evening will be the Bike Rodeo, where children can bring their bicycles for a free safety inspection, test their riding skills on a safety course and have the chance to receive bicycle giveaways. The activity is intended to promote safe riding habits through hands-on learning.

The family-friendly event will also feature activities for all ages and opportunities for community members to connect with first responders in an informal setting.

"National Night Out is a wonderful opportunity to strengthen the relationships that help keep our community safe," said Chief of Police Dan Suttles. "We encourage everyone to come out, meet their local first responders, and enjoy an evening focused on community, connection, and partnership."
