Brew at the Zoo returns Sept. 12 to support wildlife conservation

ATASCADERO — The Central Coast Zoo will host its 13th annual “Brew at the Zoo” from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, with proceeds benefiting the zoo’s ongoing education and conservation efforts.

The 21-and-over event, themed “Party with Purpose – Sipping to Support Wildlife Conservation,” will feature craft beer, wine, cider, seltzer and distilled spirits from more than 20 participating producers from the Central Coast and surrounding areas.

Participating businesses include Barrelhouse Brewing, Firestone Walker Brewing, Eberle Winery, Bristol’s Hard Cider, California Coast Beer Co., Lone Madrone, Oak and Otter Brewing Company, SLO Cider, Wild Fields Brewhouse and others. Nonalcoholic beverages will also be available for designated drivers.

The evening will feature live entertainment from Lion Remain Band, Andrew Sedley Jazz Trio and The Vibe Setters, along with music from DJ Chris of Subtone Records. Guests can participate in costume, hula hoop and dance contests for a chance to win prizes.

Food will be available for purchase from a variety of vendors, with options including tacos, gourmet quesadillas, tri-tip sandwiches and Greek food. Attendees will also receive a complimentary collectible glass, while event T-shirts will be available for purchase.

Tickets are $45 per person online, plus service fees. Designated driver tickets are $15. If tickets remain available on the day of the event, they will be $55 per person. Tickets can be purchased online or at the Central Coast Zoo Gift Shop.

The event is limited to guests age 21 and older, including designated drivers.

The Central Coast Zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and is home to more than 200 animals representing more than 60 species.
