Cambria man arrested in CSAM investigation involving more than 600 images

CAMBRIA — A Cambria man was arrested in June following a San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s Office investigation into the possession of suspected child sexual abuse material, according to authorities.
Detectives served a search warrant June 10, at a residence in the 400 block of Leighton Street in Cambria as part of an ongoing investigation that began in April after multiple tips were received by the Sheriff’s Office and San Luis Obispo Police Department.
The suspect, identified as Roberto MercadoLeonardo, 45, of Cambria, was arrested on charges related to possession of child sexual abuse material involving more than 600 images, officials said. He has since been released from San Luis Obispo County Jail after posting bail.
Authorities said it is currently unknown whether there are any local victims connected to the case.
