PASO ROBLES — The Central Coast Zoo will celebrate Earth Day with its 15th Annual “Party for the Planet” on Saturday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The family-friendly event will feature interactive adventures, hands-on activities, educational demonstrations on water conservation and pollinator gardening, and exhibits by sustainability-focused local businesses. Food will be available from Paradise Shaved Ice. Platinum sponsors include Atascadero Mutual Water Company and Solarponics, with Waste Management as the Gold sponsor.
The zoo, which is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums, specializes in animals from global biodiversity hotspots — areas that cover just 2.5% of Earth’s land surface but support nearly half of species found nowhere else. Over 250 animals call the zoo home, including red pandas, monkeys, fossa, meerkats, parrots, and reptiles.
Tickets for the event are $15 for adults, $13 for Atascadero residents, seniors, and military, $10 for children ages 3–12, and free for children under 3. The zoo is located at Atascadero Lake Park on Hwy 41, one mile west of Hwy 101. For more information, visit centralzoastzoo.org
