SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — A San Luis Obispo County jury has convicted Jenky Bueno, 56, of felony stalking and multiple violations of court-issued restraining orders, District Attorney Dan Dow announced.
Bueno was found guilty of one count of felony stalking, two misdemeanor counts of violating a domestic relations restraining order, and two misdemeanor counts of violating a court order.
Jurors heard evidence that Bueno and the victim were in a dating relationship for approximately a year and a half before separating in spring 2023. Following the breakup, prosecutors said Bueno began following, harassing, and repeatedly showing up uninvited at the victim’s residence. He also followed her in public places day and night, causing her to fear for her safety.
Despite repeated requests from the victim to stop contacting her, Bueno continued what prosecutors described as a campaign of harassment, including unwanted visits, repeated phone calls, text messages, and social media communications. In spring 2024, the victim obtained a domestic relations restraining order from San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, which Bueno violated multiple times. Authorities said he later violated a criminal protective order issued after charges were filed in early 2025.
“We work hard to stop intimate partner violence in our community and hold abusers accountable because it is deadly serious conduct,” said District Attorney Dan Dow. “Statistics show that over half of female homicide victims in the USare killed by a current or former male intimate partner. Intervention and accountability through our criminal and victim justice system can save lives.”
Bueno faces a maximum sentence of three years in state prison. His sentencing hearing is scheduled for Jan. 12, 2026, in Department 5 of San Luis Obispo County Superior Court, with Judge Timothy S. Covello presiding.
