The defending CIF champion Atascadero Greyhounds continued their winning streak with a 55-13 victory over Cabrillo. Star player Kane Cooks connected with Mason Degnan on a pass play, putting the Greyhounds in the lead at 14-7 against the Conquistadores, and they never looked back. For the game, Cooks rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, and also threw for 118 yards and a touchdown on 10 passes.
We can’t forget the efforts from Mateo Cano, who rushed for 105 yards and three touchdowns on 11 carries.
Templeton 44, Morro Bay 10
On their home field, the Templeton Eagles took victory against their rivals, the Morro Bay Pirates, by a score of 44-10.
The game began with Morro Bay scoring first, but then senior Wyatt Ramey scored on a 12-yard touchdown run to tie it up at 7-7. Templeton’s senior wide receiver and defensive back, Kolton Sobyra, played a pivotal role with an interception in Pirates territory, leading to a field goal that put Templeton ahead 17-7. Sobyra went on to score two more touchdowns, a one-yard rushing touchdown and a spectacular 54-yard punt return, extending the Eagles’ lead to 29-10.
Nipomo 34, Paso Robles 21
