Optimist Clubs to host annual Festival of Trees

ATASCADERO — The Optimist Clubs of Paso Robles and Atascadero will host the fourth annual Optimist Festival of Trees at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Atascadero Lake Pavilion.

The holiday fundraiser will feature approximately 40 to 45 decorated, 4-foot artificial Christmas trees, each accompanied by at least $300 worth of gifts and services donated by local businesses and individuals. A bonus tree will also be raffled, with prizes valued at at least $500.

Guests will have approximately two hours to view the trees and place raffle tickets before enjoying a holiday dinner and additional festivities. The event will include music, door prizes and additional drawings, with Santa Claus also potentially making an appearance.

Entry tickets are $80 and include admission and dinner. Tickets for children under 18 are $40. Beer, wine and champagne will be available for purchase.

Raffle tickets are sold in sheets of 25, plus one bonus tree ticket, for $20. There is no limit on the number of raffle tickets that may be purchased. Winners must take their trees home at the conclusion of the event.

Tickets are available by calling Iddy at (805) 469-5609, Chuck Sawyer at (805) 591-9590 or through any Optimist Club member. Tickets and additional information are also available through Zeffy.

Proceeds support youth activities and scholarships in the local community. The Optimist Clubs provide scholarships to high school seniors, support youth activities, host a free Kids Fishing Derby and donate backpacks to children served by Child Protective Services in San Luis Obispo County.
