Registration open for Atascadero's fall youth pickleball program

ATASCADERO — Registration is now open for the City of Atascadero Recreation Department's 2026 Fall Youth Pickleball program, giving students the opportunity to learn one of the nation's fastest-growing sports.

The program is open to students in fifth through eighth grades and will teach participants the fundamentals, rules, and strategies of pickleball, a sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.

Classes will be held at the Colony Park Community Center Gym, 5599 Traffic Way, on Mondays and Wednesdays from Oct. 5 through Oct. 28.

Class times are:

• Grades 5-6: 5-6 p.m.

• Grades 7-8: 6-7 p.m.

The cost is $80 for Atascadero residents and $88 for non-residents.

Participants should wear comfortable athletic clothing. Paddles will be provided, although students are welcome to bring their own.

Registration closes Sept. 25.
