SAN LUIS OBISPO — Woods Humane Society will host its sixth annual Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at its campus at 875 Oklahoma Ave., San Luis Obispo.
The free, fall-themed event welcomes leashed, friendly dogs and their owners for an afternoon of pet activities, costume contests and local vendors. Organizers expect more than 900 people and 200 dogs to attend.
Activities will include kids’ and canine costume contests, photos with Santa Paws, trick-for-treat training challenges, carnival games and the Woods Pup-kin Patch.
The Pet Fair will feature local pet-related vendors, along with food trucks. Woods Humane Society will also offer half-price adoptions for dogs and cats during the festival.
The first 100 entrants registered for the Costume Contest will receive Wag Bags. Prizes will be awarded in four categories: Kids, Big Dogs, Little Dogs and 2 Peas in a Pod.
“Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival is Woods Humane Society’s largest annual event, and it is one of SLO County’s biggest and best pet celebrations,” said Woods CEO Emily L’Heureux. “We look forward to welcoming our community of animal lovers to our SLO campus to join in a day of free fun with pets as the focus.”
The event is sponsored by Subaru of San Luis Obispo as part of the Subaru Loves Pets initiative.
Free public parking will be available at a nearby parking lot on Oklahoma Avenue and other designated areas.
