By Atascadero News · Tue Mar 03 2026
ATASCADERO — The Atascadero Senior Center will host a lively community fundraiser, Dance Through the Decades: 1940s–2000s, on Saturday, April 18, at Kiwanis Hall. The event supports the nonprofit’s programs that help over 250 local seniors stay active, connected, and engaged through fitness, social events, tech support, and lifelong learning opportunities.
The evening promises a high-energy celebration of music across the decades — from swing and rock & roll to Motown, disco, and modern hits. Guests are encouraged to dress in their favorite decade’s attire, from poodle skirts and go-go boots to bell bottoms and platform shoes, adding to the festive atmosphere.
Attendees won’t need a dance partner, creating a fun, social environment to mingle and make new friends. The night will also feature raffle prizes, pizza, sandwiches, snacks, desserts, coffee, soft drinks, and bottled water to keep everyone fueled for dancing. Families are welcome, with activities and music suitable for ages 8 to 108.
The goal is to sell 175 tickets, with all proceeds benefiting Atascadero Senior Center to keep programs affordable and accessible. Sponsors, raffle prize donors, and monetary supporters are encouraged to contribute and will be publicly recognized during the event and in promotions.
