Atascadero to break ground on major public safety facilities project

ATASCADERO — The City of Atascadero will host a groundbreaking ceremony on Monday, June 8 at 3 p.m. to launch its Public Safety Facilities Project, a major infrastructure investment funded by voter-approved Measure D-20.

The ceremony will take place at Fire Station No. 1, located at 6005 Lewis Avenue, and will bring together city leaders, public safety officials, and community members to mark the start of construction.

The project includes a full rebuild of Fire Station No. 1, significant renovations to Fire Station No. 2, and upgrades to Police Headquarters, including a new dispatch center. City officials describe it as the most substantial public safety infrastructure investment in recent city history.

Remarks will be delivered by Mayor Charles Bourbeau, along with Atascadero city leadership and the city’s fire and police chiefs. Following the ceremony, attendees will have an opportunity to view emergency response equipment, including a new fire engine, and speak with public safety personnel.

Residents, business owners, and community members are invited to attend the event, which highlights ongoing efforts to modernize and strengthen local emergency response services.
