Overnight US 101 lane closures planned in Atascadero for concrete inspection

ATASCADERO — Caltrans will conduct overnight concrete inspections along approximately two miles of US 101 in Atascadero beginning Tuesday, Sept. 1.

The work will include inspections of concrete along both northbound and southbound lanes. Drivers should expect single-lane closures during the overnight hours.

The southbound US 101 closure will take place between Traffic Way and Curbaril Avenue from 11 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, to 3 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2.

A northbound US 101 single-lane closure will follow between Santa Rosa Road and Traffic Way from 1 to 6 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 2.

Caltrans said the inspections are necessary to evaluate the integrity of the concrete and ensure roadway safety. No significant delays are expected, but drivers are advised to slow down and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
