13 total ordered to isolate after co-worker tests positive for COVID-19

A report from the Santa Barbara News Press stated that 13 people from the Santa Barbara County Jail system were ordered to isolate after a San Luis Obispo County resident who recently returned from Europe had fell ill and tested positive for COVID-19.

The patient and 12 colleagues, “including four sworn custody deputies, one general services employee, two employees of Wellpath Healthcare and five civilian sheriff’s employees, had been in close proximity to the employee and were ordered to self-isolate.”

In the same report, it was noted that “In another unrelated incident, an attorney from San Luis Obispo County became ill after working in a Santa Maria courtroom last week and later tested positive for coronavirus.”

While cities and agencies are taking proactive precautions, the community spread of COVID-19 is apparent across city and county borders. Personal precaution is considered top priority and the County recommendations should be followed strictly.
