The free community event runs June 14 through August 2
ATASCADERO — The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce and the Atascadero Community Band will return this summer with Tuesdays in the Park, beginning June 14. This weekly event occurs at the Atascadero Lake Park and starts at 5 p.m. with food and beverage sales. Live music on the bandstand begins at 7 p.m. This is a free community event.
Michaela Haniger, Event Coordinator and Chambers Operations Manager, said, “I am happy to be coordinating Tuesdays in the Park for the benefit of various nonprofits that help make a difference in our community. We still have dates for nonprofits to participate, but so far, the Kiwanis, Atascadero Memorial Foundation, APACC, and the Printery Foundation will be bringing baked goods for people to purchase and enjoy while they listen to the band. There will be food trucks and beer and wine for sale as well, so bring your chairs or blankets to the Atascadero Lake Park Tuesdays from June 14 through August 2 .”
Nonprofit leaders are encouraged to contact Haniger for availability at (805) 466-2044.
The event started in 1995 when the Atascadero Community Band rehearsed at the bandstand during summer months. People gathered to listen and started to bring dinner to eat in the park while they listened to the band. Later, it became a fundraiser for community nonprofits.
