The open house at the A-Town Skate Park starts June 15

ATASCADERO — The City of Atascadero and A-Town Park are proud to announce “Summer Blowout Camp Day & Open House” on Wednesday, June 15 from 11 a.m. until noon. If you have always wanted to visit A-Town Park and see the many activities and camps taking place, this will be the perfect opportunity to do so.

Over the past 14 years, A-Town Park has been operated by Kevin and Andrea Campion, who has been entertaining and running many classes for local kids, hosting date night events for parents, and being a place for all ages and families to enjoy. They put many hours into keeping the grounds and equipment maintained, both inside and outside the facility. The Campions work together with the City to provide the repairs and upkeep to all of the skate surfaces so that all the local skateboarders and scooter riders have a safe place to skate.

Summer Blowout Camp Day & Open House will be an opportunity to hear from the kids and see a variety of demonstrations, along with a little DJ music from Kevin Campion himself. Refreshments will be served and available while supplies last.

A-Town Park offers 8,000 square feet of indoor plus 7,000 square feet of outdoor facilities for skate/scoot riders in a safe, supervised environment. Full rentals are available along with a full Pro Shop. The Summer Scooter Camp runs June 13 through the 15 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon for $75 per person.

A-Town Park has also been involved with the Monster SK8 program and quite a few professional riders have started right here at the Park in Atascadero. For instance, A-Town Park’s very own professional scooter champion, Chris Farris, has had amazing success with placing first in several of the recent International Scooter Association (ISA) competitions for both Action Space, and Best Trick. Farris also took second in the ISA Worlds Park Final and is currently ranked number one in the USA. Farris is someone all of our local residents can be proud of. What started for Farris as a way of just spending time and having fun turned into a full-time profession and the ability to compete in and win some of the biggest competitions all around the world.

They look forward to seeing you on June 15 at 11 a.m. If you have any questions or are interested in skating at A-Town Park, give them a call at (805) 461-7606 or check us out at atownpark.com.
