As of Friday, Jan. 6, the gas station was up and running again

ATASCADERO — Major storm damage was sustained at The Shell station on the corner of Morro Road and Curbaril Avenue. Sometime during the night of Wednesday, Jan. 4, the gas station was hit by high winds and rain.

Early on Thursday, Jan. 5, the damage was discovered. It included dripping water from the roof, multiple ripped and mangled cables, and a collapsed and torn canopy. The damage left the gas station inoperable for the time being. However, the Hitching Post Food Mart next to the gas pumps remained open the whole time.

As of the morning of Friday, Jan. 6, the torn canopy, cables, and water damage had been repaired or removed, and The Shell station was back in operation and fully open for customers.
