Dear Editor,

I recently received a flyer that stated that I have been automatically enrolled into Central Coast Community
Energy. This was done by the City of Atascadero and the state of California without my permission.

I had no choice. As a matter of principle, this is wrong. The next day, I had to dig up an old PG&E bill, get the account number, call Central Coast Community Energy (3CE), and opt out of their program. If 3CE is so wonderful, why don’t they have people call 3CE with their account numbers and opt into the program? The answer is that very few people would. Instead, they shoved everyone into their program without asking for their permission. Atascadero made a financial decision for me without my permission. I wonder what they will do next?
