Atascadero Chamber honors future business leaders with celebration after hands-on entrepreneurial training
ATASCADERO — The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the successful completion of its 2025 Jr. CEO Program, an innovative initiative designed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit in local youth. This year’s program empowered over 60 young entrepreneurs, ages 6 to 16, with hands-on business experience, leadership training, and a public platform to launch their own enterprises.
The graduation celebration was held at The Ravine Waterpark, hosted and provided by owner Brett Butterfield. A few highlights include miniature golf, games, waterslides, lunch, and ice cream.
“We sincerely thank Brett Butterfield for his incredible support,” said Josh Cross, President and CEO. “The success of the Jr. CEO graduation celebration reflects his generosity and steadfast commitment to our youth and the greater community.”
Over the course of six engaging workshops, Jr. CEOs learned how to build a business from the ground up, covering essential topics like budgeting, branding, marketing, customer service, and product development. The program culminated in a highly anticipated Jr. CEO Business Fair held at the Sunken Gardens, where participants showcased and sold their products to hundreds of community members and business leaders.
“The energy, creativity, and determination these kids brought to the program was truly inspiring,” said Josh Cross, President/CEO of the Atascadero Chamber. “They’re not just our future business owners — they’re already making an impact.”
The Jr. CEO Program is one of the Chamber’s most loved youth initiatives, supported by local sponsors and volunteers who believe in cultivating the next generation of leaders. From homemade crafts and baked goods to custom apparel and tech gadgets, the young entrepreneurs impressed attendees with their innovation and professionalism.
Parents and community leaders praised the program not only for the valuable business skills it teaches but also for instilling confidence, communication, and responsibility in the youth. “Our son came out of his shell,” said one parent. “He now talks about business goals at the dinner table.”
As the Atascadero Chamber looks ahead, plans are already underway to expand the 2026 Jr. CEO Program with additional resources and even more opportunities for hands-on learning.
