Atascadero Library announces July Programs for Children, Teens, and Adults

ATASCADERO — The Atascadero Library has announced a variety of free programs for children, teens, and adults throughout July.

Children and families can enjoy weekly storytimes, including Bilingual Storytime on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. at the library and outdoor Storytime at Sunken Gardens on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. Participants are encouraged to bring blankets and snacks.

Young music enthusiasts can explore instruments during the Instrument Petting Zoo on Wednesday, July 15, from 11 a.m. to noon, featuring hands-on opportunities with instruments from the San Luis Obispo Symphony. The event is open to all ages.

Children can also practice reading skills with certified therapy dogs during Paws to Read sessions on Thursday, July 2, and Thursday, July 16, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

A Family Movie afternoon is scheduled for Friday, July 24, at 2:30 p.m. Families are invited to bring snacks and enjoy a film together at the library.

For adults, the library continues to host TMHA Library Outreach services every Wednesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m., connecting community members with resources including healthcare, housing assistance, food, clothing, recovery services, and mental health support.

Music lovers can attend a free Festival Mozaic Young Artist Program Mini-Concert featuring cello, violin, and viola on Thursday, July 16, at 10 a.m.

The Between the Lines Book Group will discuss Caste by Isabel Wilkerson on Saturday, July 18, at 10:30 a.m.

Residents interested in preserving family memories can attend a Memory Lab Orientation on Saturday, July 11, at 10:30 a.m. or Tuesday, July 28, at 4 p.m. Participants will learn how to digitize VHS tapes, photographs, audio cassettes, film reels, slides, negatives, and other media. Registration is required.
