The tournament is Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17

ATASCADERO — The City of Atascadero is hosting the 6th Annual SHOWDOWN Charity Cornhole Tournament on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 16 and 17. 

The Knights of Columbus are planning two days of fun with a 2-person team tournament on Friday with kick-off at 12 p.m. in Atascadero and the main 2-person team tournament on Saturday with registration starting at 8 a.m. Both tournaments will take place at the Sunken Gardens in Downtown Atascadero.

Proceeds benefit the North County Adaptive Sports and Recreation Program and Escuela Del Rio. Kick-off to the Cornhole games begins on Friday at 12 p.m. with check in at 11 a.m. On Saturday, plan for a whole day of games, as there is a nine-game minimum for this fun tournament starting at 9:30 a.m.

Friday, Sept. 16

The Central Coast Challenge in Sunken Gardens: Check in at 11 a.m. for the eight-team Round Robin Toss from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m., break from 2 to 3 p.m., and A & B Bracket Finals from 3 to 5 p.m. Fun prizes for first through fourth place. Cost is $40 for a 2-person team entry fee donation (40 team maximum).

Saturday, Sept. 17

The Showdown, Main Tournament in Sunken Gardens: Check-in is at 8 a.m., with the eight-Team Round Robin Toss at 9:30 a.m. The Tournament will break for lunch from 12 to 1:30 p.m. Enjoy music from the Deja-Vu Band from 12 to 2 p.m. Finals will start up at 1:30 p.m. and go until 5:30 p.m. Up to $3,000 in Cash Prizes for first through fourth place for “A” & “B” brackets. Early Bird registration is $60 for a two-person team entry fee donation; early bird offer expires on Aug. 31. After this date, it goes up to $80 per two-person team donation.

In addition to the main Tournament, there will be a $50 Prize for the Best Team Costume and a Jenga Challenge. Cash prizes apply to adult teams only (ages 12 & over) and can total up to $3,000 with a 128-Team sell out. 

Trophies will be given for first and second place. There will also be a “Most Points” with a $10 buy-in and a $100 cash prize for first place. Coffee and pastries will be available to start your day, as well as food and drinks for lunch available for purchase from Kiwanis of Atascadero.
