Update (1:14 p.m.): CHP has informed Atascadero News that a woman died after jumping from the Del Rio Road over-crossing down onto the northbound lanes of US-101 this morning. Due to no vehicles involved in the incident, Atascadero Police Department has taken over the case.

Update: CHP has alerted that all of the traffic lanes of northbound US-101, near Del Rio Road have been reopened.

ATASCADERO — The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has released notification that the northbound 101is closed at Del Rio Road in Atascadero due to reports of a woman who jumped onto the the freeway from the Del Rio Road Overcrossing. 

CHP said they have not confirmed that information yet but have several units on scene and northbound US-101 traffic is being diverted off at Del Rio Road.
