Atascadero service club awarded Volunteer Service Group of the Year
Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast held their Annual Meeting & Luncheon on January 30, 2020, in Santa Maria featuring Mayor Alice Patino of the City of Santa Maria swearing in the organization’s Board Officers.
“I’m so appreciate to our stakeholders and staff teams that attended our Annual Meeting & Luncheon. It’s always an honor to host such an important celebration of our organization’s most influential donors, volunteers, and staff members. I especially want to thank Mayor Alice Patino for offering to swear in our Board Officers again this year,” said Jeremy Deming, CEO.
“Among the many surprises during the event, a $10,000 donation was received from Natural Healing Center. This gift will go a long way toward supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of Mid Central Coast in one of our most important objectives, preventing substance abuse and addiction in our community’s young people,” according to Mr. Deming.
Erick Pinedo-Tovar was named BGCMCC’s 2020 Youth of the Year; Jack’s All-American Plumbing was the recipient of the Community Partner Award; and the Atascadero Kiwanis Club was recognized as this year’s Volunteer Service Group of the Year.
Megan Harris was recipient of the MVP Employee of the Year award. Meghan is the Director of People and Culture of BGCMCC. Her supervisor, Roberto Rodriguez, gave a congratulatory speech when awarding Meghan with the top honor. Deming closed the ceremony by inviting stakeholders to take a sneak peek at the soon to be unveiled Teen Center (scheduled to open in February). “We have several exciting initiatives currently underway and on the horizon,” stated Deming.
