Candidate Bruce Jones is now only 37 votes behind current Supervisor Bruce Gibson
SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY — It is now a close race for the District 2 Supervisor seat in San Luis Obispo County. In the San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder Office’s recent General Election vote count, candidate Bruce Jones is only 37 votes behind incumbent Bruce Gibson.
The San Luis Obispo County Clerk-Recorder’s Office updated their unofficial General Election results on Wednesday, Nov. 23. The recent update now shows the two candidates coming in at:
- Bruce Gibson — 50.08 percent (11,319 votes)
- Bruce Jones — 49.92 percent (11,282 votes)
Last week Gibson was in the led with 52.08 percent of the votes while challenger Jones followed behind at 47.92 percent.
As of Nov. 23, there is a total of 9,872 votes left to be counted. The next scheduled election results are currently “To Be Determined,” according to a statement from the County Clerk.
The County Clerk-Recorder estimates her office will finalize counting all the ballots by Dec. 8.
